A car anywhere

Since autumn 2011 and for the first time anywhere in the world, in central Paris and in 46 communes within the Paris area, you are able to try Autolib’; the only network of 100% electric self-service cars.

Inhabitants of the area have heard the name for several months now. They are soon able to experience it as a reality… by getting behind the wheel! These 46 communes, working together as part of a , have all taken the daring step of placing Autolib’ at the centre of their urban development strategy.  The 46 communes that have pioneered the plan have contributed to the development of cleaner transportation and the shared transport methods of the future.

Thanks to Autolib’, the Paris metropolis is becoming more easily accessible. Do you have a business trip? Are you going to see a friend? A shopping spree? Everyone will be able to travel anywhere, when they want, in an ecological manner. This is an alternative city life, bringing people together more easily. With Autolib’, the Greater Paris area will have an environment where each person can get around with ease.

The Ile-de-France region supports Autolib’

The region has decided to participate in the creation of Autolib’ stations outside Paris in order to extend the service coverage. The allocated budget will allow 190 Autolib’ stations to be created in total, without any financial contribution from the communes themselves.
